If someone can prove me wrong and show me my mistake in any thought or action, I shall gladly change. I seek the truth, which never harmed anyone: the harm is to persist in one’s own self-deception and ignorance.

Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Can you cite one speck of hard evidence of the benefits of “diversity” that we have heard gushed about for years? Evidence of its harm can be seen — written in blood — from Iraq to India, from Serbia to Sudan, from Fiji to the Philippines. It is scary how easily so many people can be brainwashed by sheer repetition of a word.

Thomas Sowell

Every war, every crime against humanity among the damned of the earth is supposed to be somewhat our fault and ought to lead us to confess our guilt, to pay endlessly for being a member of the bloc of wealthy nations. This culture of apologies is above all a culture of condescendence. Nothing authorizes us to divide humanity into the guilty and the innocent, for innocence is the lot of children, but also that of idiots and slaves. A people that is never held accountable for its acts has lost all the qualities that make it possible to treat it as an equal.
— Pascal Bruckner, The Tyranny of Guilt: An Essay on Western Masochism

Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and given him triumphal processions. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the new wonderful good society which shall now be Rome’s, interpreted to mean more money, more ease, more security, and more living fatly at the expense of the industrious.

I suddenly realized I was on the other side. What I saw was an unruly mob of self-indulgent middle-class hooligans. When I asked my friends what they wanted, what were they trying to achieve, all I got back was this ludicrous Marxist gobbledegook. I was disgusted by it, and thought there must be a way back to the defence of western civilization against these things. That’s when I became a conservative. I knew I wanted to conserve things rather than pull them down.

Roger Scruton

The Left has taken over every commonplace, every platitude, every trite slogan, provided it will attract a clientele. It prostitutes itself with disconcerting ease, showing itself willing to accept allies from every side and money from every hand. Such an attitude can win elections, but it cannot start a revolution. Instead, it takes all the energies and groups that might be revolutionary, and amalgamates them so that they are inevitably absorbed and rendered sterile; then their sole function is to justify the status quo in the name of a revolution that will never happen. The groups that the Left thus integrates into a composite whole act as a facade pointing to a reality that no longer exists but of which men continue to speak. Thus the Left is, in practice, counterrevolutionary.

Even if I hated Muslims, that wouldn’t make me a racist. “Muslim” isn’t a race. But let’s say I am a racist. So what? What’s your point? “You’re a racist” isn’t an argument.

Christians didn’t form the KKK. Democrats did.

We don’t invade for oil. We have more oil here in America than in the entire Middle East.

I’m not surprised an atheist defends Islam. Both atheism and Islam are inclined to domination and tyranny. Also, atheists are usually pretty cowardly, so they try to avoid angering Muslims because they know it’s the one religion that kills people for angering them.
